WordPress, Social Media, Facebook & Twitter in Lexington KY
Turns out that WordPress plays well with Social Media through Facebook and Twitter.
We work exclusively in WordPress sites and are able to have some simple plug-ins that make the site connect with Facebook and Twitter. The part that is the best is that when you are building in Social Media there is a world beyond and it is called blogging.
Think about the blog you are writing and what your wanted outcome is. Communicate that through Facebook and Twitter the start the dialog with every one by driving them to the blog. This way you have created a destination.
What I love about Lexington KY is that the people here in Kentucky want to be in dialog. They want to be a part of the conversation. If there is a great wordpress site from a friendly wordpress development team, then you are good to go. This is due to the core of the wordpress development plan is to care about people and create engagement.
Great people have on that team ::
Serif Group : Email Marketing
AmartinDesign : Design
BuzzMaven : SEO
ViaMediaTV : SEO

A Challenge : The Most Real – Social Media in Lexington KY?
The easiest thing to do is attribute every action to a desired outcome. What if that is against what we, as people, are made to do? Doesn’t it feel kinda cheap when you put a message out there just to get business or a wanted response? It sure does.
Talent Attach is totally guilty of doing this. We try to create marketing messages that engage people to being involved rather than influencing a buying decision and we only reach that goal maybe 2 out of 5 times. It is hard.
In light of this enlightenment we are going to shoot for a goal of 3 out of 5. That will be so amazing to be earning a D+ in what we do and still being the best at what we do in the Bluegrass region…. Not bragging, #JustSaying. We will go up against any one’s campaign. In fact, we challenge any other Social Media peoples to a campaigning contest. Who can be the most real? We can take any one. No Doubt.
As we say this it is all in fun.
We have a great grouping of creative and marketing companies who really care for their clients and I would go as far to say even love their clients. So this is super fun to make a call out and hear the silence. (trash talk)
If you are down for the challenge, lets make the rules. If no one responds who reads this. Then we won! Ha!
Challenge
- Campaign for a paying client
- Campaign on Facebook & Twitter
- Who can create the most Fan Page Posts and Retweets wins.
- Timeline : 1 Week (Time TBA)

@GaryVee Just Defined Social Media in Lexington KY

Thanks to Gary VaynerchUK! Lexington KY owes you quite a bit of it. You wrote a book that defines Social Media in a way that we need to replicate. We are not mentioned directly, though all I saw in it was what Lexington, as a Social Media community, is striving to be.
If you are one of the many people in Lexington KY telling the world about how you are a “Social Media Guru”, “Social Media Marketing Expert” or just know anything about Social Media and you have not read “The Thank You Economy” all that is to be said is “Go For It!”.
Truthfully, there are no Social Media experts out there. Just read this book. This book has defined Social Media in Lexington KY’s current place and time while delivering it in a very classic sense of marketing and relationship building overall.
The best thing that @GaryVee says is that you have to care for people. Not just kick out a dope marketing plan or consistently blah blah about you most current 20% off deal. Like you really have to want to get to know people again. It is a good read. No, it is a great read.

Did Facebook Just Twitter in Lexington KY
Seems like Facebook just changed again. Can you believe that? Really?

Oh… wait maybe Facebook does not want the average person to have the ability to customize their system and have it look like Myspace (that is so 2006). Turns out that is true.
For real, Facebook just aligned themselves to be the first surfer, listener and viewer portal. You will surf your Facebook account more than the web in the coming year and the web will have a much less play on what you sell or what you buy.
The classic line of “we have a Facebook Fan page” or “I am not going to go on twitter and tweet about walking my dog” is just a sign to the person you are talking to that you are not wanting to step forward… and that is OK.
In this next economic revolution it will be alright to stay behind. You can get a great spot on a board game like the B&O Railroad. All then need to do was drop the “railroad” in their name and go with something catchy and broad like “transportation” and you would be seeing them as a flight option on Priceline.
Sooo, the excitement for Talent Attach is that we do real cool stuff and are looking for people that want to go out there and fail a couple time to fine the time that rockets the whole camp forward. That means you can’t play it safe and will have to have a lead into the next. At least look real good while you are doing it.
This may create a ripple effect across the other major social media providers. The most likely first one is Twitter. You will have a more involved interface that will deliver tweets that are of relevance to the people you follow to your phone and the content you regularly read.
So yes Facebook did just change Twitter in Lexington, Kentucky and the world along with Flickr, YouTube, Posterous, Google Places and your local paper. #PrettyCool
Social Media is Not on the Internet in Lexington KY
If you are in a place right now where you are constantly looking at the internet to market your product or service you are looking in the wrong place. The internet is the last place you want to market anything. No one wants to purchase anything on the internet. It turns out that they just want to get to know you as a brand and maybe even as a person.
There are some fantastic brands that are doing this well and some brands that are doing this not so well. The ones that are doing it well are the ones that take the ownership of building a relationship and spreading their wings at every chance they get to meet new people and tell them about who they are and what drives them as a person. The ones that are not doing so well are the brands that are thinking the thoughts of marketing, placement and “bottom line” over a relationship.
Not long from now the brands that focus on the sales numbers first will see a defined shift. This shift will favor the brands that want to really get to know their customers and clients. This shift will be one of honesty and grace. Honesty that the brands built on self will be able to turn from their selfish ways and receive the grace of choosing to be about people and get back in the game.
The beautiful part of this is that social media is not the saving grace and it is not on the Internet. It is on hand shakes and cups of coffee and taking back a product that did not work while lastly building something that will really last longer than ourselves.
At Talent Attach we love great design, publishing engaging content and fun campaigns. They do only one thing. Give the opportunity for life long relationships.
Lets do something great today. Together. In Lexington, New York, London, Naples and Rio.
Your Business Card?
What do you want your business card to say?
We can spend so much time being focused on talking about ourselves and what we do with the products we have to deliver in a quick delivery fashion… We are always asking questions that just don’t matter.
I think it is time to get back to the real question. So I placed it on my business card.

So what would it be? Your super power?

New People and more #Smunch
We have added some new folks to the mix over here at Talent Attach. Nate Deal has joined us as an SEO wizard. He has for sure brought some added smarts to the table. As has our other new member. Mrs. Amber Wedding has come in and streamlined our project management. Things have never been more smooth around here.
There is a definite energy moving through our office as we are just being blessed with more and with great people coming around us. We got to celebrate our 2 new members and a milestone in Scott’s life last week with more #smunch. It was a great time. And in honor of that, here is another video from our first #smunch experience that you won’t want to miss.
#Smunch
So last week, you may have seen the Talent Attach Team blow up the Twittersphere with tweets about #Smunch. Our good friends over at Smash Burger invited us to an event with them. We got to try out the new Sin City Burger that is the regional burger for Las Vegas. We got to taste test that against Kentucky’s own Bluegrass Burger.
We had a great time hanging out with the team over there. Oh, and by the way… The Bluegrass Burger wins hands down!
